As members of the Alpedrete team, Tim and Kristi are involved in church-planting efforts in the Madrid area. They live in the pueblo of Alpedrete, a town of 15,000 people, where they are planting the first evangelical church in the town’s history.
In December 2005 the team opened an Outreach Center offering classes for children and adults. They began worship services in February 2006.
The Johnsons’ children are an important part of their ministry, allowing them to meet many new people.
Tim was saved in junior church at seven years of age after realizing his need for Jesus Christ as his Savior. He surrendered his life to Him then and answered the call to missions as a freshman at Welch College.
Kristi was saved in her home church at the age of seven. She committed her life to full-time Christian service at youth camp when she was 15 years old.

In 1994 he received a Masters Degree in Teaching English as a Foreign Language from Columbia International University in Columbia, S.C. Tim traveled with the Evangels drama team at the Bible college. He has been to Côte d’Ivoire twice and Kazakhstan on student missions trips. Tim worked in children’s church at Cofer’s Chapel FWB Church in Nashville, Tenn., and worked with the church’s youth in various capacities following graduation.
Kristi also graduated from Welch College in 1996 with a degree in Secondary Education and Missions. She traveled with the Rejoice ministry team at Welch College and worked at the Nashville Union Rescue Mission.
