Ivory Coast Pastor Gone to be With the Lord

Kenneth and Rejane Eagleton

Pastor Kouamé Philippe Fakéyé, of the Koumassi FWB Church in Abidjan, Côte d’Ivoire (Ivory Coast), was found lifeless Friday morning, July 6, 2018, in Doropo, having died in his sleep. Pastor Philippe was 44 years old and is survived by his second wife. His first wife and a son preceded him in death.

Pastor Philippe was a graduate of the third class of the FWB Bible Institute in Bouna and was ordained in 2009. His first pastorate was at the FWB Church of Agnibilekro, before assuming leadership of his present church in Abidjan. Pastor Philippe has been very active in the denomination, having filled several leadership roles at the local, regional, and national levels. He currently held the position of vice-president of the Southern Regional Association, member of the executive committee of the National Association, and member of the Board of BERACA, a FWB NGO that runs the Doropo Hospital and several other humanitarian efforts in the country. Pastor Philippe had traveled to Doropo as part of his responsibilities with BERACA.

Pastor Philippe was passionate about his faith and ministry, having been a powerful influence on many of the young people in Côte d’Ivoire. His activism in the denomination will be sorely missed.

Please be in prayer for his family, his church, and all FWBs in Côte d’Ivoire.
