It was a cold December 1996 Sunday at dusk. One of our pastors was on his motorbike, leaving the church to go home. As he turned onto the main road, he heard a little one crying. He stopped and found her. She asked him to take her. Her mother’s brother then appeared. He said he had sold her two older sisters but no one would take her.
The pastor didn’t know how he could take her on the motorbike nor what to do with her. She was tiny but was about three years old. After much thought, he put her on the back of his bike and tied his neck scarf around her and himself and traveled home. They called her ‘Baby.’ From that day, she lived with this pastor’s daughter and her family and was a part of the family. The pastor’s daughter and her husband had two sons and Baby
They called her Baby. From that day, she lived with this pastor’s daughter and her family and was treated as part of the family. The pastor’s daughter and her husband had two sons. Baby was like their big sister.
Fast forward to June 2016. Baby is a beautiful bride. On June 12 she married one of our evangelists in our Olivet Free Will Baptist Church. It was a lovely Christian marriage.
The husband, Silas, was one of the twin sons of one of our workers. He had completed his school work and Bible training and was ready to be married. Now, they are busy at work in the harvest field our Lord has given to us. Please pray for them.
An additional note: Her mother was found just before the wedding and actually gave her daughter (whom she would not have known) in marriage. She had never been far away but knew nothing of her children.
